College work for illustration class - Purgatory
Our assignment was to draw in any way Paradise, Purgatory and Hell. We could adopt any religion or go with our own concepts. I decided upon a mix of Christian and Egyptian. I didn't focus on life after death concepts, rather "living to achieve something".
The Purgatory illustration depicts the constant search of one's heart for justice, even at the cost of self sacrifice.

But I just wanted to let you know that purgatory is not Christian, it's a Catholic idea that was invented and is not in the bible at all.
It is the idea that a person can have a second chance after death in some limbo-land to have their sins purged before going to be with God in heaven and the restored earth.
Catholicism has even pushed ideas like that a person can pay certain fees for indulgences and be forgiven... It's again nothing from the bible, not from God.
So, it is interesting that you would mix the idea with Egyptian theme too, as that has to do with false worship of man-made ideas.
If you look into the history and symbolism of these, it's really fascinating... The same occult language from thousands of years ago is still being used today.
